Who we are Cooking Champions is a food focused social enterprise, set up specifically to benefit and support individuals and families in our North London community. We believe in the power of food as a force for good, and that’s our passion and primary focus. We cook hundreds of meals from scratch for the homeless, provide free kids’ meals in the school holidays and food packages for some of the most vulnerable members of the community. To date we have made 40,000 meals and provide weekly food packages for over 200 people. We do all this by working collaboratively with other charities, donations and by running commercial catering events. So, when you see Cooking Champions initiatives, you know we are a force for good! What you’ll be doing Responsibilities As a Kitchen Manager/Cook you will be responsible for the daily running of the kitchen and will be able to cook a wide range of different cuisines. Organisation is essential as is the ability to communicate and interact well with the existing team. Experience/skills ● Previous experience cooking in a kitchen ● Able to produce good fresh, food from scratch ● Level 2/3 in Food Hygiene ● Observe good working practices and current health and safety regulations ● Stock management ● Able to train new members of the team ● Excellent customer service skills ● Strong team manager with fantastic communication skills and can remain calm under pressure ● Passionate about the core values of Cooking Champions On Offer Must be self-employed with own transport. Weekly Pay starting from £12 per hour, to be reviewed after 3 months. Hours are dependent on our events schedule. It is likely to be approximately 10 hours a week. You will be required to work on weekends for commercial catering events. We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible regarding specific timings.
