Light up the dark winter evenings with a beautiful, hand-built ceramic candlestick or tea light holder. Whether you’d like to add a cosy glow to your home, brighten your dinner table, or craft a thoughtful handmade gift, this workshop is the perfect creative escape.
Join local ceramic artist Claire Bevacqua for a relaxing three-hour session where you’ll learn to design, build, and decorate your own unique candle holder from clay. Claire will guide you through a range of hand-building techniques, showing you how to shape your ideas into reality and add decorative textures. You’ll also have the option to bring your piece to life with a splash of colour using underglazes.
Take time to unwind, get creative, chat, and of course-enjoy a well-deserved break for coffee and cake!
In this workshop, you will*
• Design your own ceramic candle or tea light holder-templates provided
• Prepare and shape clay with step-by-step demonstrations
• Experiment with tools to create textures and patterns
• Add colour using slips, underglazes, or oxides
• Leave your piece with Claire to be fired and glazed in her studio
Your finished work will be ready for collection at Forty Hall or from Claire’s Palmers Green studio 2–3 weeks after the course.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers aged 15+.
There will be a short break midway-you’re welcome to grab a coffee and snack from The Cedar Tree Café, or bring your own.
Please bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on!
